In Year 1 we've been learning about road safety and thinking about some different ways to make ourselves and the roads near our school safer. We worked together to make a road safety banner so we could show everyone what we've learnt.
During Summer 1 we were lucky enough to get to look after some caterpillars. We worked in groups of 3 to name and look after them. We watched the caterpillars change and grow into beautiful butterflies! Each week we recorded our observations of the changes they made during their life cycle. Here are some pictures of our fully grown butterflies!
Kings and Queens
Our current topic is Kings and Queens. We have been learning about some English Kings and Queens, local Pearly Kings and Queens, and an Emperor and Sultan. Our home learning project over the May Half Term was to learn about a King and/or Queen and make the castle that they lived in. We have made some amazing castles and should be very proud of ourselves. Thank you to the parents as well for the spectacular job they've done in helping their children make these castles.
